New minibuses: the first unmanned minibus in China

According to the report, an  unmanned minibus project has been launched  at Longlingshan Park in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ), Wuhan, China. This is an event that marks the launch of the country’s first unmanned vehicle commercial demonstration.

First of all, the new blue microbuseswhich are about 5 meters long and 2 meters wide. There are 8 seats distributed around the body of the minibus. I estimate that with the space in front of the minibus, it can carry up to 14 passengers. There is no driver’s seat, brake pedal, rearview mirror, or steering wheel. These new unmanned buses detect and reactivate the outside environment and accurately identify road markings, vehicles and pedestrians.

The vehicle will begin test operations in November. It will extend from the gate of the Park to the slope of the flowers. According to calculations, the total distance is around 5 kilometers, traveling at a speed of 10 to 15 km per hour. That is, it can travel at least 100 km with a full load and passengers. Plus, you won’t have to pay to use the new vehicles. The project is a demonstration of the future of transportation. In addition, it will attract new companies and qualified workers. As in the report, there are about 10 minibuses in Wuhan and they are used in various fields.
