Increase for import vehicle from China to UK in September

What’ situation about import of goods from China in UK?  In September 2021, UK imports from China increased by 5% year on year, including import vehicle.

In September 2021, China ranked first among the countries of origin of imports with a proportion of 13.6%.

According to the data of the UK General Administration of Taxation and Customs, in September 2021, the UK imported 6.177 billion pounds of goods from China. Up 5% year-on-year and 1.065 billion pounds from August. China ranked first among the countries of origin of imports with 13.6%. Among which the import of electronic equipment and import vehicle represented by laptops and mobile phones increased by 31% and 4 times year-on-year, respectively, with obvious driving effect.

In September, Germany and the United States, the second and third sources of UK goods imports. Accounted for 10.5% and 8.2% respectively. And the primary commodities imported by Germany and the United States were automobiles and primary metals respectively.

The data shows that since the second quarter of 2020, China has gradually replaced Germany as the largest source country of British goods imports. Especially, the production capacity of information technology products such as computers, mobile phones, servers, etc… Which are driven by the epidemic, is mainly concentrated in China. In 2019, Britain imported 9.3% of goods from China and Germany 12.3%.

In September, the total value of British imported goods was 45.5 billion pounds. Down 9.2% year on year, up 15% month on month. And exports in that month were 28.7 billion pounds, up 11% year on year.
