Important news about electric vehicles including electric van van in overseas markets

Here is some important news about electric vehicles, including electric small van in oversea markets. Such as Eurasian Economic Union and European Union.   Eurasian Economic Union may resume import tariffs on electric vehicles.  The import and export of electric and hybrid vehicles in the EU are still growing.

1. According to the documents of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the Eurasian Economic Union may resume import tariffs on electric vehicles, including electric small van.

In the spring of 2020, due to the devaluation of the currency, insufficient internal production. And the need to promote the development of related infrastructure, the Alliance implemented zero tariffs on imported electric vehicles. This preferential policy was initiated by Belarus. Meanwhile, it will be implemented until the end of 2021.

The European Enterprise Association suggested that the policy be extended to the end of 2024. And it is not enough to form a large market scale within the effective period of the current zero-tariff policy. Once the preferential policies are canceled, the market development and infrastructure construction will be delayed. Relevant data show the size of the Russian electric vehicle market will increase by 50% in 2020 with the help of this policy.

2. Eurostat reported on May 24th, the import and export of electric vehicles, including electric small van, and hybrid electric vehicles in the EU is still growing.

Despite the general decline in trade volume caused by the restrictive measures taken to deal with the COVID-19 epidemic. The import and export of electric and hybrid vehicles in the EU are still growing. With the export volume increasing from 150,000 vehicles in 2017 to 725,000 vehicles in 2020, an increase of nearly five times. Imports increased from 301,000 vehicles in 2017 to 892,000 vehicles in 2020, an increase of nearly three times.

In 2020, the main export destination of electric and hybrid vehicles in the EU is Britain (accounting for 39% of the exported vehicles). Followed by the United States (16%), Norway (10%), and China (9%). The main import sources are Japan and the United States (each accounting for 23% of the imported vehicles), followed by South Korea (15%) and Britain (14%).
