A Minibus with Front Wheel Drive or Rear Wheel Drive, Which One Is Better?

Are you curious about this? Why do most minibuses with front-wheel drive instead of rear-wheel drive? Today let’s find out those reasons why a minibus with front-wheel drive most but less rear-wheel drive?

First of all, why everyone uses the front engine front-wheel drive?

The front drive is the engine layout in the front and directly drives the front wheel. The rear wheel is followed by the operation. Frankly, to say, that is more like “pulled run”. This mode was completely absent in the early family cars. In fact, the first popular cars were a front-rear drive, that is, the engine was in the front, and the rear axle split system was connected through a longitudinal gearbox so that the rear wheels drove the front wheels. This drive system has a very good driving experience because of the longitudinal engine layout (cross-layout with the front axle), the connected gearbox is long and narrow, and the rear axle drive section is heavy, which can effectively balance the weight of the front and rear body.

Under the premise of the same wheel size, weight (positive pressure) directly determines the wheel grip. A strong grip is very important especially when rapid acceleration, if without a great grip it will be very easy to slip. Rear-wheel driving with a better driving experience and is very suitable for high-performance vehicles. And for those commercial vehicles, it should also be rear-wheel-drive vehicles, as no matter if is full loading, the center of gravity of passenger cars and cargo cars are in the behind of the vehicles. That means the weight of the rear will be relatively large. Which can improve the grip of the rear wheel grip, whereas the front wheel grip will be weakened. There is no to worry about wheel skidding when heavy loading starts and climbs.
